Dr. Katherine Lewis earned her doctorate from National University of Natural Medicine in 2014. She has an enthusiasm for evidence-based naturopathic therapies, along with a continuous thirst for knowledge. Her education uniquely provides her with up-to-date scientific information she is able to share with her patients. Dr. Lewis is a native Oregonian who grew up playing both competitive team sports, and outdoor individual sports. This love for activity was one of the earliest seeds initiating her deep interest into health and wellness. She completed her undergraduate degree at Oregon State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. Following which, she found she had a strong desire to learn even more about the root of disease and how to keep people healthy. After attending a family member’s appointment with a naturopath, she was enthralled. Every day she rediscovers her love and respect for the medicine and cherishes the opportunity to share this with her patients.

The natural healing model Dr. Katherine Lewis uses may vary from that of other physicians you have seen in the past. Each ailment has underlying causes. She aims to understand each individual’s disease process along with its causes. Important contributing factors may have been present for some time and are not always easily identified. The result of understanding each unique presentation, and treating accordingly, produces dramatic results. An important part of this process is addressing each individual’s physical structure, biochemical make up (blood lipids, glucose, liver enzymes etc.), environmental exposure, and emotional elements. Although treatments are typically aimed at the underlying cause of the illness, Dr. Lewis does often recommend short-term treatments to alleviate severe or uncomfortable symptoms. Her ultimate goal is to provide a healing environment where she is a facilitator, cheerleader, and teacher. This empowers patients with the tools to take an active role in their health.
